Our Licensed, Legal Service

We are fully licensed by the State of California as a Cremated Remains Disposer (License #1036) and operate Coast Guard-inspected and examined vessels. Unlike some charter companies offering bareboat arrangements, we provide professionally captained time/voyage charters—protecting your family from liability while offering service on a vessel held to the highest standards of safety.

What to Expect

Your ceremony begins with a 45-minute journey to the scattering location, where our crew will:

 

• Preparation of cremated remains for the Ash Scattering/ Spreading At Sea. (we handle everything)

• Serve food and beverage throughout your time aboard

• Provide music capabilities via Bluetooth, plug in, and streaming, or your own playlist, ( Video picture slide-show available on The Legend)

• Handle all paperwork after the Scattering.

• Guide you through the ceremony at your own pace

• The Duchess: Intimate ceremonies for up to 6 guests ($990.00, ( tax included )

• The Legend: Large family gatherings for up to 41 guests ($1,650.00-$6,380.00) ( tax included )—the only motor yacht in the Marina del Rey Harbor that can legally leave the harbor with more than 12 passengers

The Ceremony

We typically use a location three miles straight off the Santa Monica Pier, but will go to any location in Santa Monica Bay our time and distance allows. Our captains can offer prayers from any denomination to help your family begin, or you can lead the service entirely.
We place the cremated remains in a basket with flowers, ( provided by the family ), making it look beautiful. When your family is ready, we lower the basket to the ocean's surface. A line attached to the bottom allows you or our staff to spread the contents onto the Ocean's surface when the moment feels right. You participate as much or as little as you like. Wildlife Encounters

Dolphins, Seals, sea lions, and an occasional whale frequently visit Santa Monica Bay during ceremonies, adding a profound sense of connection to nature.
